Mary Rose (Pawlarczyk) Szczodrowski

May 31, 1930 ~ January 23, 2018 (age 87)

   Mary Rose Szczodrowski, age 87, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, formerly of Plainfield, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018.

  She was born May 31, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Rafael and Agnes (Gasionek) Pawlarczyk.  She married Willard C. Szczodrowski on September 2, 1950 in Chicago.  Before moving to Plainfield, Mary worked for Seebergs a Jukebox manufacturing company.  Though Mary was blind in one eye it never occurred to her as disabllilty. She loved to read and travel.  Mary and her husband owned and operated the Chain O’ Lakes Drive In the 1970’s. She also worked at the former Plainfield Truck Stop for 22 years. She enjoyed crocheting, volunteering with the Oasis Prairie 4-H Club, participating in the 4th grade reading program at Tri-County Schools and Girl Scouts.  She also enjoyed attending church outings and adventurous walks with family and friends.

   She is survived by her three children, Debby Denham, Tami (Ron) Bloch and Jim Szczodrowski; her loving grandchildren, Candi (Chris) Smart, Amanda (Charles) Holbrook, Shane (Tessa) Sigourney, Greg Szczodrowski, Dannielle Bloch, Chantalle (Tyler) Beggs and great grandchildren Jesus, Isaiah Aliyah, Shayna, Olivia, Brayden, Jayme and Gaige; her brother, Joe (Helen) Pawlarczyk; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Barry Denham, and grandson Eric.

   Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent at
